As experts in hardwood installation, the oil based finishes are polyurethane which have occupied a pivotal role in this space, but have now proved to be dangerous due to its detrimental effect on ones health. Polyurethane does not go into the wood and creates a plastic coating acting as a surface protection. Solvent related finish can be acid cure or moisture cure depending on your needs be it homes or offices. Further the use of this kind of finish can complete a job quickly. It takes anywhere between 3 days and 7 days to dry completely before placing furniture on the floor. We do not recommend this finish for households or people with allergies and sensitivity prone as the smell continues for days together and can cause reactions to many. 

Some other highlights of this finish is the way it covers open grains in hardwood creating a unique texture. Further it turns into amber over time which gives a distinct personality to the flooring creating a warm yet tinted appearance of the floor.  While oil based finish has numerous benefits and characteristics, we continue to promote this finish in addition to other finishes like water borne as well to suit our variety seeking clients.
